Emma Frickey
Meet Emma Frickey. She has been a CASA volunteer for approximately four (4) months. She is advocating on a single child at this time with plans to take a second case soon. She first heard about CASA through friends that were involved. She didn’t think she could handle the CASA work as she is soft hearted and didn’t think she could be beneficial to the program. She was prompted to finally take action following a horrific incident in our community and she realized just how much help was needed for our most vulnerable population. Emma has always had a servant’s heart. She enjoys working with children and individuals with intellectual disabilities. She previously worked at TARC where she has maintained many friendships with the clients she served. She is currently a stay at home Nana to her grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family. She has been married to Everette Frickey for nine (9) years. They share five (5) daughters and a son. Emma is originally from Bourg, La but moved to Amberg, Germany with her first husband who was in the army. They then moved to Georgia and eventually moved back to Houma.
In speaking about what is involved monthly as a CASA volunteer, she stated that she visits her CASA child at least once a month. She writes her observations down and submits them to her supervisor. She said that her supervisor is always there for any questions that she may have. She feels like her greatest accomplishment is taking the first step to actually become a CASA volunteer. She states that anyone thinking about becoming a CASA should JUST DO IT. There are so many children who need to know someone is there for them!
Thank you, Emma Frickey, for your service to our organization. We are grateful that you took the leap of faith and joined us.
