Who We Are

Meet a CASA

Alex Prosperie

Alex Prosperie

Born and raised in Houma, LA, with a brief five-year detour in Houston, TX, Alexandria has been rooted in this community for nearly her entire life. When she’s not advocating for children, she works at Fletcher Technical Community College as an Educational Technology Specialist. She has an adorable schnoodle, Chessie, who keeps life fun and full of cuddles. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, reading, cooking, and yoga. She’s a huge podcast lover (especially true crime and book-related shows) and is excited to launch her own podcast with her best friend in the spring of 2026. A fun fact about Alex: she has been in the same room as Joe Keery—aka Steve from Stranger Things—while watching his band, Post Animal.

She was sworn in as a CASA volunteer in March 2025 and is currently serving on her first case. Having known about CASA for years, she has always admired the kindness and passion of the people involved. Now that she’s part of the CASA family, she brings that same warmth and dedication to her advocacy.

Her monthly CASA schedule includes visiting her CASA child twice a month and spending time with her and her foster family, as well as engaging in visits with the child’s biological father. When preparing for court, she reviews case reports and her contact logs to keep every detail accurate. When writing court reports, she references previous reports and her own notes to paint a vivid, accurate picture of the child’s life and progress.

One of her proudest, recent accomplishments is her growing involvement in service work. She recently joined the Junior Auxiliary of Houma to deepen her impact in the community.

When asked what advice she would give someone considering becoming a CASA volunteer, she doesn’t hesitate: “Do it yesterday.” She describes her time as an advocate to be an incredible experience, made even more meaningful by witnessing so many people come together to love and support a child who deserves a chance at a brighter future.
