Nikki Harwood

Nikki married her husband, Shaun, in May of 2024. A proud dog mom, she shares her home with three pups: Baxter, a thirteen-year-old Yorkie; Forrest, a five-year-old Cavalier King Charles; and Royce, a four-year-old Aussie Doodle. Born in Houma, Louisiana, Nikki later moved to Petal, Mississippi, at age 12, where she graduated from Petal High School. She returned to Houma in 2001, spent a few years in Metairie starting in 2005, and then settled back in Houma in 2012. She has proudly called Houma her home for 13 years now.
Professionally, Nikki is an accountant, serving as Senior Accounting Manager at Marine Systems. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her enjoying Friday night steak and wine dinners at home, traveling, attending concerts with her husband, or taking part in events where she gets to dress up- whether in costume or to get “boujee,” as her husband fondly calls it.
Nikki joined the CASA board in August 2025, but her connection to CASA began years earlier. While fostering a child, she witnessed the life-changing support that CASA provides. After Hurricane Ida destroyed her home and left them displaced for months, CASA stepped in to ensure her foster child had essentials and access to services during that difficult time. Nikki recalls the CASA volunteer on her case as “absolutely amazing” and deeply supportive throughout the process. Now, she is eager to give back. As a board member, Nikki helps fulfill the mission by raising funds that directly support CASA’s vision. Her advice to anyone considering getting involved with CASA is simple yet powerful:
“Do it. There are so many children in need that are in foster care. As a former foster parent, CASA was there for me and my foster child after Hurricane Ida. They made an incredible impact in our lives, and I want to help ensure that impact continues for other children.”
