Each year, we take a moment to honor the dedicated volunteers whose unwavering commitment forms the heart and soul of our program. Choosing just one individual for each award is never an easy task because we are surrounded by so many deserving heroes.
CASA of Terrebonne is deeply grateful to be supported by our advocates, board members, judges, and the steadfast generosity of the Herman J. Courville Foundation. Together, we have built a program that stands as a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable among us: our foster children.
This program is not just about statistics or hours logged; it is about a compassionate community coming together to create brighter futures. Yet, the numbers do highlight the extraordinary dedication of our volunteers:
- 64 Volunteer Advocates have given their time serving 107 children across 71 cases
- the advocates have devoted nearly 1,600 hours on their cases
- collectively, they have traveled over 8,500 miles - ensuring that the children they serve know they are never alone
Still, numbers cannot fully capture the depth of what they do. They cannot measure the impact a caring adult has on a child in foster care—the way an advocate can guide them toward a stable, loving, and permanent home.
CASA of Terrebonne remains steadfast in its vision of a world where children, regardless of their circumstances, have the chance to grow up safe, loved, and supported. This belief fuels our mission and drives us to show up, year after year.
We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Claire Melacon, who has once again generously donated her beautiful venue, The Canefield, for the third consecutive year. Claire embodies the spirit of the Angel Award she received last year, and we are so thankful for her kindness in giving us a space to celebrate together.
A special thank you also goes to Spigot’s Brew Pub for their generous donation of craft beer, which added a delightful touch to the evening, and to Dominique’s Bistro for providing the delicious meal we all enjoyed. Finally, a big thanks to Chase Toups with Livin So Loud, whose photographs captured the spirit of the night beautifully.
Together, we celebrated not just our program’s achievements but also the lives we’ve touched. Our success depends on a community that believes in our mission—a community that cares deeply, shows up with open hearts, and keeps hope alive for every child we serve.
