CASA of Terrebonne is excited to host Lelani Brunet, RN, with South Central Louisiana Human Service Authority for a Lunch and Learn session addressing one of the most significant issues affecting the cases we serve. During this training, Ms. Brunet will help us better understand substance use disorder, with a strong focus on addiction, the use of Narcan, and what is happening inside the brain of someone struggling with addiction.
This session will place emphasis on the brain chemistry and behaviors associated with substance use disorder and the importance of nasal Narcan in responding to opioid overdoses. Participants will gain valuable insight into a topic that impacts a large percentage of us—either personally or through the children and families we serve.

Unfortunately, rates of substance use continue to rise, making this an especially timely and informative training opportunity.
