Advocate of the Year: Emily Gilmore

Advocate of the Year: Emily Gilmore

Emily Gilmore has been a devoted advocate for more than seven and a half years, since being sworn in on May 3, 2018. In that time, she has served eight children across four cases; and even stepped in to cover a case with three children for another advocate who was on maternity leave. When CASA informed Emily about a child losing her advocate due to a conflict of interest, she immediately volunteered without hesitation, saying, “I’ll take it.” That selfless spirit defines her. She continues to maintain a strong relationship with the child, even though the child is now placed five hours away in an adoptive home.

Emily’s steadfast commitment, empathy, and willingness to go the extra mile make her an outstanding representative of CASA’s mission. She listens deeply, speaks up bravely, and shows up wholeheartedly. For her relentless dedication and her unwavering belief in the power of advocacy, Emily Gilmore is a truly deserving to be named the 2025 CASA Advocate of the Year Award.
