Getting Free reveals the battles of addiction, what can lead to it, and the process of recovery. Seven real people tell their stories of using a Buddhist-inspired approach. The documentary addresses all forms of addiction, such as heroin, fentanyl, alcohol, porn, sex, meth, cocaine, and overeating.

With locations ranging from rural South Carolina and Wisconsin to cities like Los Angeles and Seattle, Getting Free includes heartbreaking but uplifting accounts of people using meditation, compassion, and forgiveness to help one another. Breaking the stigma of anonymity, this is the first feature film that tells the stories of real people in recovery.
