QPR Gatekeeper training is evidence-based and teaches participants how to recognize the warning signs of someone thinking about suicide and how to get them help. We cover facts and statistics, myths, warning signs, how to ask someone about suicide, and how to get them help. Participants receive a 2-year certificate and many resources.
Rachel is a Suicide Prevention Specialist with Jacob Crouch Suicide Prevention Services and The Family Tree. She provides virtual QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) gatekeeper trainings to the state of Louisiana, excluding Region 4. Rachel is also a Group Director at Healing House; Hope for Grieving Children, a non-profit organization that provides support to grieving children and their families through bi-weekly peer support groups. She received her Master’s degree in Thanatology, the study of death and dying, from Marian University-Wisconsin. Her Bachelor’s degree is from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Behavioral Science.
